Your treatment coordinator is with you from start to finish. We'll explain the procedure and answer every question you have along the way.

In your initial smile consultation, you’ll meet with Dr. Woolwine to discuss your dental goals. We’ll perform an exam and take special X-rays to assess your current smile. In the consultation, your doctor will have you share more about the smile you’re looking for and will answer any questions or concerns you may have.

At your pre-surgery records appointment, we’ll take all the necessary scans, photos, and impressions of your mouth using our advanced technology. You’ll receive the instructions for what to do the morning of your procedure and aftercare. You’ll receive your prescriptions, which you’ll want to fill before the day of your procedure.

The day of your procedure, we recommend wearing comfortable clothing. When you get to the office you’ll be escorted to the back, made comfortable, and then sedated. A qualified member of our team will be by your side the entire time. Most patients don’t remember the procedure, they just sleep through it. You can expect to be at our office for the majority of the day. The procedure is only a few hours, but you’ll be sleeping off the anesthesia for a while. When you wake up, you’ll have a beautiful set of temporary teeth. These are your healing set, which you’ll wear while your body and bone heal and integrate with the implants—a crucial step to ensure the best possible result. Temporary teeth are nearly indistinguishable from what your final teeth will look like.

Dr. Woolwine received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of California San Francisco before completing a residency at the well-known WhiteCap Institute for dental implant training. He was then invited to extend his time at WhiteCap Institute, where he taught courses in dental implants, tissue grafting, bone grafting, and occlusion, and became certified in IV sedation. During these years, he also traveled throughout the country providing training and mentorship to other dentists for implant surgeries.

He is passionate about and very dedicated to providing the highest level of care to his patients, and he is constantly training around the country to become the best he can be. The part he most enjoys is building lifelong relationships with patients and helping them gain the confidence that comes from a healthy and beautiful smile!

He and his wife, Kristy, have been married for over seven years and enjoy raising their three children. They are excited to be returning to Texas and are looking forward to serving and being a part of the San Antonio community. They enjoy spending their free time outdoors and traveling.
